So, you’re thinking about taking a spin up Northern Ireland’s Causeway Coastal Route, are you? That’s just fantastic! Very amazing scenery is on the cards, I think. But listen, a view alone can leave you feeling a bit peckish. What you really need are some amazing spots to grab a bite and a brew along the way, very excellent grub, very nice watering holes and friendly faces, and a good yarn. Luckily, that neck of the woods is chock-full of them. To be fair, I’ve rounded up five absolute crackers to put on your radar, really fantastic eateries.
1. The Bushmills Inn Restaurant
First, for a bit of comfort and warmth, you should drop by The Bushmills Inn Restaurant, that way it is pretty fantastic! It’s nestled right in the village of Bushmills, so too its setting is really lovely, very close to the iconic Old Bushmills Distillery. Now, this place isn’t just about a fancy dining experience, to be fair. Oh no, its a bit special than your average pub meal. They focus very much on using super ingredients, really top class food sources and doing right by local suppliers, which you can taste that, is that fair to say?. Expect modern Irish cuisine with that something extra, and you can usually enjoy dishes such as seafood chowder to warm the cockles on a cold day, so, too you have some very gorgeous grilled steaks which will keep you very happy, its fair to say. To be fair, The Gas Bar in the hotel is just as great as anything, you can have yourself a dram by the fire. Really it does sound divine!
2. Harry’s Shack, Portstewart
Next up, how about Harry’s Shack?, so you have many nice places to visit, and it’s situated right on Portstewart Strand. Don’t let the name fool you, right. Okay, yes, it’s a “shack,” it could be just a very small beach hut almost. But that in some respects makes it all the more fantastic! That, coupled with what you’re having, makes it a winner in many books I reckon! When, the weather’s playing nice (sometimes that can happen, right?), that is that Harry’s has tables outside on the sand, or they often do actually, very nice!. So too you have some wonderful fresh seafood while overlooking the Atlantic Ocean is one of those holiday memories that stays with you. Simple food cooked well is what they do; things like lobster, locally-caught fish, or tasty salads. I guess you could bring your bucket and spade with you also?. You know that this spot will get very popular quickly so just bear that in mind. Very cool, very calm, I’d say its definitely worth it.
3. Tartine at Distillers Arms, Bushmills
So, nestled in Bushmills is Tartine, that is that it operates from within the Distillers Arms. Here we are again in Bushmills almost. It offers some brilliant views and has become that very much favoured to dine-at in the area. With lots of focus on seafood from the Antrim Coast, in other words, something good from around the coastline. A rather good recommendation is always a good starter with some local oysters followed with their beautiful fish and chips, so very nice. The cosy setting of the Distillers Arms, so its fairly unique. And I’d like to argue, alongside Tartine’s dishes make it great. Do you like pubs and something local?. Anyway give this one a whirl.
4. The Fullerton Arms, Ballintoy
Is that maybe you know, the coastal village of Ballintoy is where you can see The Fullerton Arms, that, again, is really well thought-of pub. Now, fans of Game of Thrones might know Ballintoy Harbour as a filming location, and The Fullerton Arms has lots to offer here, really good scenes if you ask me.. In fact, The Fullerton Arms even has a Game of Thrones-themed room and their menu will offer an amazing twist for those wanting photos and lots more from their favourite show, it could be quite exciting. Yet their regular pub grub is brilliant and should give any tourist that nice feeling inside from tasting brilliant food, pretty incredible. This place offers a fantastic place to sit back and discuss with all your mates after travelling about for miles and miles, so I think. It also, just too, gives you very quick access to sights like the Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge so, very iconic locations almost next door!.
5. Browns Restaurant, Portstewart
Alright, lets make that Browns Restaurant in Portstewart, that in some respects they serve modern food while looking onto pretty amazing views along the coastline. The brilliant husband and wife team are always thinking up very new menus using different local things which is fantastic news if you ask me. Just that the warm setting, coupled with that wonderful service from staff always make that tourist from afar be happy that they booked this restaurant when, for example, visiting that area, is that maybe true?. They just, naturally, offer great brilliant wine choices plus an wonderful cocktail selection also and it really makes that eating event that something additional to talk about back in yer hotel or at home later, right!. Their early bird menu has proven very popular with a menu of lots of choice. The a la carte menu really provides some choice to their local followers, and that gives others a really unique sensation and they’re always booking back in too, alright! Give that place a visit and sample great tastes of the sea .
