But what about stuff to do once you’re there? Is there stuff to keep you busy, right? Of course. Ditch those tourist traps for a bit and let’s get into the outdoor vibe, is that cool? Punta Sam delivers some amazing adventures that totally make your vacation. Ready for some serious fun? Let’s jump right in.
So, Getting Salty: Beach Hopping & Chilling
Beaches, that thing are kind of Punta Sam’s bread and butter. So, ditch the crowded Cancun spots and head over to Playa Mujeres, alright? Is that thing one seriously beautiful stretch of sand. The waters are like, super calm, very turquoise, perfect for just wading, you know? If you are that way inclined. Plus, those little beach clubs? Loads, really, offering lounge chairs and ice-cold drinks to you know what. Sounds blissful, right? Playa El Meco, too, is it’s almost a quieter option, right? Perfect if you want to like, actually hear the waves.
That thing chilling on the beach is cool and everything, and so if you’re more of a doer than a lay-er, right, then, you know, grab a paddle board. So, various rental spots can be found all along the beach so you don’t even need to pack one. Get yourself on that clear, still water and just paddle, alright? You’ll see all kinds of stuff: little fish, maybe even a sea turtle. And, of course, getting a little bit of sunshine on your skin is like a little slice of heaven.
Very Fishy Business: Exploring El Meco Archaeological Site
Ready for a touch of history? Very cool, right? Like, just a short drive from Punta Sam is the El Meco archaeological site, alright? Is that like your cool window into Mayan culture, that. It’s very easy to walk through, and like, you’ll wander among these ancient structures. Like, imagine the folks who built that very tall pyramid “El Castillo”! Plus, the site is crawling with iguanas, really, sunning themselves on the rocks, so you get a like a natural wildlife show as well. Don’t get too close, of course, ‘cos like, they’re still wild animals, so.
That cool El Meco place it isn’t only ruins. Is that, in a way, set right on the coast. So that makes the backdrop just, very gorgeous, right? Like, try to get there first thing when it opens so that you aren’t struggling with that scorching midday sun so much. So that way you get the best light for photos of those structures that were very historic as they loom very impressive over the sparkling water so.
Almost into the Deep Blue: Catamaran Sailing to Isla Mujeres
Okay, so you have got to get yourself on a catamaran to Isla Mujeres, right? Is that like your quintessential Cancun experience and lots of the boats, too, will leave right from the Punta Sam area, right? Picture yourself out on the sea with the wind in your hair as that big boat is taking you, very, very comfortably, you know, out towards the island. You’ll have music, drinks, and so much sun. When you’re sailing to the island. that is cool and all but like the catamaran trip that it almost always includes some time for you to snorkel, okay? Get yourself into that clear water, very close to the Mesoamerican Reef so that way you’ll see all sorts of like colorful fish and stuff.
Once you finally arrive on Isla Mujeres that you want to rent like, a golf cart to whip all over that island, you know? Explore all those tiny streets of the downtown area. Also don’t forget about Playa Norte that thing consistently gets very ranked as one of the most beautiful beaches of the globe. Like, the shopping for tourists there might be kinda touristy. But hey, is that a souvenir, or what are ya?
The Great Greensward: Pok-Ta-Pok Golf Club
Is golf more your jam than the beach? very cool. Very close by Punta Sam is Pok-Ta-Pok Golf Club so. Is that more or less than a championship course set right on that edge of the Nichupté Lagoon, okay? Views! Those fairways that get very well-kept. So if you are into those kinda views. Bring your clubs and play with maybe a nice breeze off of that lagoon. Like just don’t slice into that water, obviously.
Pok-Ta-Pok, you know, has something kinda neat: ruins! Not right in those way of the fairways. Okay so like do not freak out but this archaeological place right near, okay? Is kind of really adds this air that is very unique as you are teeing off that way? Maybe if you chunk it on one swing it looks cool when it disappears amongst history, in that respect. Jokes, ‘cos of course you won’t chunk a shot.
It’s Like a Jungle Out There: Exploring the Mayan Jungle
Very ready for a total detour to the more touristy Punta Sam stuff? In that way then you may like what I’m saying. Various tour options that depart right from Cancun and take you far back inside of that Mayan jungle that very, actually exist. It’s cool really because it still feels like nobody’s gone back there and so you can get really get a lot of feels.
Think like riding ATVs on those trails. Swimming that are, really, crystal-clear cenotes or the caves and things. Really just cool places underground and doing, really, zip-lining above of those treelines of great trees is so cool. I really have a special place in my heart for those ziplines. Many tours of that jungle, you see. I mean these actually, okay? Some Mayan communities, so like this makes you experience. In short it’s an actually way. Like that you understand a bit the way it used. That there ways of life that may be ancient there still living people in very isolated settings today.
