Their jerk chicken and pork tend to be cooked to, like, tender perfection, with a proper, very awesome spicy kick that’s not, you know, messing about. The, like, marinade seeps into every single nook and cranny, making it pretty damn incredible. You gotta order some sides as well; things like rice and peas (it’s coconut rice and kidney beans -yum), or festival (kinda like fried dough sticks – also yum) complete, in fact, the entire feast. Seriously, you will find many restaurants dotted around but you are extremely unlickly to get something of Jerk Paradise’s greatness!

3. Sips & Bites Beach Bar: Cocktails and Coastal Views

If you would rather chill, that is something that is doable when in Lucea, go towards Sips & Bites Beach Bar; it will allow you to get your feet in the sand while sipping on a nice cocktail. Right on a very gorgeous bit of coastline. Obviously, it’s super popular with anyone hoping to have a drink while watching, perhaps, the waves roll on in. Or watch others having to get sun-creamed; that can be funny to watch, at times! Actually, you are likely going to find yourself there all afternoon – very chill indeed great view over a delightful cocktail.

They do a pretty solid range of cocktails, all fruity and vibrant. Rum punch and piña coladas tend to be super popular, very appropriate too considering where you are. If it is the beers and drinks your after that tend to be ice cold, really lovely. In case you happen to feel peckish, you will see that they do light bites like burgers and nachos. That creates the best type of casual eating that seems almost essential while there. A pretty damn good, perfect way, should I say, to while away a couple of hours and catch that real holiday spirit.

4. Irie Vybez Restaurant: Local Flavors and a Family Vibe

To truly dive into genuine Jamaican food that feels, arguably, a little closer to homemade cooking, Irie Vybez Restaurant will get you there. It’s, like, owned and run by a local family, and you certainly can feel the welcome vibes as you, you know, walk through the entrance. You almost feel like your turning into one of the extended family if you keep visiting taste the real Jamaican family cooking.

The menu really shows Jamaica’s rich cuisine heritage. Options tend to include curried goat, oxtail, and various different veggie options (very varied) – all done with local herbs and spices. A few will kick, by the way. Serving sizes can be considered, basically, huge so do turn up hungry or ready to, at least, share. After dark it starts changing; almost immediately too. On select nights it gets pretty, you know, lively with live music that, really, reflects that local reggae and dancehall sounds. Basically, pretty damn fantastic in every manner or form you want to look at it.

Grab that ice cold Red Stripe – because you probably should – and allow yourself to be surrounded and amused by, well, good vibes and fun atmosphere.
