These little towns each have something really different that make this French area oh so special. They’re quite cool places to see when you’re kicking back in that region, like a collection of hidden gems sprinkled across some scenic lands French village charm.

Colmar: Little Venice and So Much More

Colmar’s got this canal area nicknamed “Little Venice,” and that, in itself, is kind of worth the trip. I mean, where else can you casually float by cute houses decked out with vibrant flowers? I have found the colors around the old town a very big delight. Picture yourself strolling along those streets, snapping some photos that just can’t miss. That’s one memorable way to experience a culture and a half, right there! As I was saying, Colmar’s colorful homes, like, really set it apart, don’t they?

But Colmar isn’t only about water features; its old town packs quite the cultural punch! Eguisheim: Circular Charm

Okay, so Eguisheim is this circular village, very neat! Seriously, its layout, with concentric streets spiraling out from the central castle, that is definitely pretty interesting. It really does look very striking during warmer months. Like your most treasured holiday memories are sure to come out of exploring there beautiful villages in Alsace.

Visit the Château Saint-Léon Pfalz, from where Pope Leo IX used to live (the village happens to be his birthplace.) There, or nearby, grab a meal at a local bistro, or grab some crémant d’Alsace – think of it a bit like their answer to bubbly. Relaxing there with tasty stuff and pretty sites, that may almost be all you ask for Eguisheim eateries.

Obernai: Wine and Wellbeing

Moving on over to Obernai, you can clearly sense that place has quite the history – seriously! That village feels like a blend between a quaint spot and some bigger location. I’m saying that if you would like to kick back a tiny bit, Obernai possesses lots of wellness spots (thermal spas etc.) which means you can balance your vineyard visits with, very, very, some relaxation. Kaysersberg: A Personal Favorite

Finally, we get to Kaysersberg! And I think, if pushed to choose a favorite, it might be that. I am serious: Kaysersberg hits you right away because it comes with a scenic view, as in, just walking over the fortified bridge makes you grab at your phone for shots! Very probably this place sums up everything about Alsatian magic; so too it’s almost where past is perfectly combined with what’s up now. The Emperor got born nearby, yet his heritage makes this spot famous still iconic Kaysersberg bridge.
