The Blue Ridge Parkway, like your favorite winding country road, almost calls out to you, is that right? It certainly has folks thinking of hitting the open road and seeing those beautiful mountain vistas, you know? It’s super appealing, that is, as a way to just kick back and appreciate creation’s raw artistry. Deciding where to actually start is actually a little tough. 1. Asheville, NC to Mount Mitchell State Park

2. Mabry Mill to Doughton Park, Virginia
Get a feel for a slice of Appalachian history then bask amongst beautiful high meadow views, you should do it that way, right? A little further toward northern Parkway locations lies Virginia, you know? And that area in general shows some rather wonderful cultural heritage. The park? Just wow, literally. So starting off at Mabry Mill, get a small view inside life in a much earlier era, so you see? Then as you drive, that scenery turns to pretty big open fields. Doughton Park is, too, known for camping but that it has walking spots. I’m only touching on highlights, though, yet; this by far is just one to not rush at all, and instead take time to hike and also ponder the landscape! Those overlooks offer a relaxing chance for everyone to simply catch breath.
3. Roanoke to Peaks of Otter, Virginia
Take off toward an adventure which presents vistas then lakeside repose at any point! Leaving Roanoke’s cultural appeal, in the end, gets you quickly onto Parkway South very fast, of course, doesn’t it? It follows an undulating path heading toward Bedford County rather fast. 5. Cherokee to Great Smoky Mountains National Park, North Carolina
Consider going by mountain histories toward incredible forested majesty anytime! The parkway’s southernmost area holds a lot just near Cherokee and the Smokies, is that not so? Learn that rich culture of those Cherokee! Tour Oconaluftee Indian Village, and you also get some historic context too. Starting down the Parkway just turns into nature. Stop some, wander easy tracks plus enjoy this mountainous charm round about everywhere then? This route almost shows forest at its best there on view by car, it is quite scenic still. Those folks then moving into the Smoky Mountains at last also obtain views on such awesome forests like that right near Clingmans Dome and other vistas!
