Capel Curig’s Tasty Treats: Top 5 Food & Drink Spots
You see, when you’re planning a trip to the scenic landscapes around Snowdonia, or maybe Eryri, as the locals call it, then you are thinking about amazing hikes, unbelievable views, and maybe, just maybe, a little bit of peace and quiet, very relaxing, so it’s almost certain you will be hungry and thirsty after all that adventure. What you will locate here, I am guessing, is that the tiny village of Capel Curig, actually sat right in the heart of Snowdonia, provides more than just a stop-off point; it offers a collection of spots where you can grab a bite and quench your thirst.
Pines Cafe: Your Cosy Start
Now, if you are imagining a place to begin your day, or just, well, stop for a midday break, then Pines Cafe, with it’s comforting aroma of brewing coffee and baked goodies, is that spot. Maybe that friendly atmosphere grabs you instantly, that sort of place, and the menu, oh, it bursts at the seams with tempting treats! As a matter of fact, from fluffy croissants that just melt in your mouth to hearty sandwiches filled with local cheeses, there’s plenty to tempt your taste buds. You know, you’ll grab your snacks as you’re thinking how you might get ready for a day walking through North Wales and this place makes sure you won’t get caught out.
Oh and, in reality, the cakes! You might see a carrot cake that is covered with soft cream cheese icing, as well as scones with dollops of clotted cream, jam too; the perfect pairing for a cuppa after some walking to replenish those energy reserves after climbing those great mountains or going through beautiful valleys. That place really brings simple joys, that you were looking forward to after planning that adventure to Snowdonia, into focus with some extremely nice flavours.
Moel Siabod Cafe: Stunning Scenery With Snacks
The views, very impressive; the snacks, too lovely; Moel Siabod Cafe, at the foot of the mountain it shares a name with, in some respects provides some absolutely outstanding meals. Maybe, you want breakfast with a view, then this is a special location, with stunning panoramas all around, but the breakfasts there, well the big breakfast provides great value – you’ll not be complaining of low energy anytime soon! Similarly to Pines, the home baked cakes make a big mark, with constant changing specials that reflect local delicacies. So, be sure you watch out what has been prepared new for the day!
Then too there’s that lunch menu, stuffed with those well-loved Welsh things. Very great rarebit is what lots of visitors say when tasting, with toast that has perfect crispy points and a gorgeous strong cheese flavour; local butchers also offer meats to add a bit of carnivore fuel. Anyhow you may have just completed some walking through the trails of the local mountains, so I’m thinking some delicious energy is a really special decision!
Tyn-y-Coed Hotel: Gastropub Elegance
Tyn-y-Coed, well it might not be quite next door to the mountains you are going to wander, so to reach that spot it will likely mean driving, or getting a ride with someone. Anyhow what you will get is an awesome experience where, if you want more than simple things, you should think very stylish dining rooms meet classic British dishes with some fancy updates; the charm just leaks out! Possibly you were wanting to have dinner there, you might consider pan-fried lamb cutlets that are locally obtained, or sea bass fillets obtained really fresh; I mean, that is something different from the everyday dishes elsewhere.
Then too, the building itself gives a kind of comfy feeling. Probably there will be blazing fires giving heat at all times that year; what with outside being cool in the Snowdonia area, but if not then too you can chill on outside spots in places that allow views over that superb landscape, I’d wager. Obviously, local ales there too for quenching of some serious thirst. And that Sunday lunch, apparently; lots of carvery food with the tasty meats all fresh, served alongside all them great veggie portions, makes the people’s spirits lift higher.
Plas y Brenin: Food with Adventure
Likely Plas y Brenin sounds like the base location where all these amazing hill walking and climb leaders may learn everything! In fact, while mostly a centre of getting knowledge in outdoor type activities, still people who aren’t part of learning on courses at Plas can obtain good simple things here. Still what is being presented is very honest; breakfasts all full, and lunches where soup mixes can make you feel ready for doing stuff outside, Plas, clearly, caters very well for visitors.
Maybe Plas feels more geared toward the active kind of diner, then in addition there are fantastic landscapes. Obviously, inside what happens seems great at a base amount; not much fancy decor, that isn’t there. Likely what I’d state there really provides focus upon filling people’s empty reserves of things. By the way it still might be extremely pleasurable indeed. Probably one might think “don’t expect a silver service restaurant” there – although one needs some solidness when getting their bellies full!
Bryn Glo Cafe: Homely Feel and More
Bryn Glo, yet a tiny bit beyond the main spot of the locality named Capel Curig. Yet, very lots still choose getting themselves there for food items or something tasty in drinks. Obviously from the road you get loads of that home cooking atmosphere here from the outside appearance! By the way many call those offerings, “traditional Wales stuff but having something really sweet”; very enjoyable indeed by travellers.
Then too the owners have created friendliness, as they welcome everyone greatly so. Definitely this becomes perfect, I would say. Arguably a cafe I would suggest for the times somebody just would like to sense peace out from everything! Possibly here you get fantastic bites at those charges of low totals, but something much better I still would say; fantastic hospitality overall for people indeed. And definitely do keep that Bryn Glo location planned straight when wandering next.
