It has those amazing beaches and friendly vibes, yet venturing out just a bit opens up a whole bunch of opportunities. That’s right, nearby, those little slices of paradise practically beg for a day trip. So, if you want adventure beyond the city limits, check out these top spots.

1. Tambaba Beach: A Nudist Adventure and Natural Beauty

Okay, Tambaba isn’t really just a beach, rather it’s an experience. About an hour south of João Pessoa, the adventure starts as you drive there, very much passing sugarcane fields and small villages. Once you get there, there’s actually two sides. One side is for everyone, featuring a beautiful beach with calm waters. But that’s just the appetizer. Cross over some rocks, and bam! You’re entering the nudist area of Tambaba. It is that part is clothing-optional, and everyone tends to be quite respectful and relaxed.

The real draw, too it’s almost, is the striking scenery. Reddish cliffs frame that beach, and those natural pools form during low tide, basically creating private little Jacuzzis. Plus, there’s something really freeing about connecting with nature in this way, that is, away from everything. Just make sure to bring sunblock and respect that beach culture.

2. Cabedelo: Where the Sun Rises First

Cabedelo is just a stone’s throw north of João Pessoa, is that right? It’s basically famed as the point where the sun rises first in the Americas – Ponta do Seixas actually gets the technical nod, very much but Cabedelo is close. Anyway, the main attraction is definitely the Forte de Santa Catarina, a historic fortress dating back to the 16th century, isn’t that something? The thing to do here really is relax, go swimming, and maybe sip on a caipirinha, of course, at one of those beachside kiosks.

For those wanting something that is a bit more adventurous, a little, head further south to Praia do Amor. That beach basically is famous for its heart-shaped rock formation and quite strong waves, basically perfect for surfing, or really watching surfers do their thing, isn’t it nice? Nearby, very well the Tambaba Hotel provides convenient access and some fancy accommodations. Spending the whole day at Conde’s beaches easily transports you, sort of, from city stress to tranquil paradise.

5. Pitimbu: Fishing Village Charm

Okay, so, Pitimbu is more like a super low-key option than your other options. Closer to the border with Pernambuco, really it’s actually a small fishing village.
