1. The Real New Orleans Style Restaurant: Roux’s Authentic New Orleans Cuisine

Roux's Authentic New Orleans Cuisine

Wanting a taste of Louisiana but don’t really want to make the drive all the way down there? No problem! Roux’s Authentic New Orleans Cuisine will give you those French Quarter feelings just the same. The atmosphere is often as fun and casual, the staff tend to be quick to suggest a favorite and tell you about some special that could very well blow your mind. But just between you and me, it’s all mouth-watering! So, too it’s almost, like your taste buds will just burst into song after a single bite. And just so you know, it is not unusual to feel as though you’ve been transported right onto Bourbon Street.

Why It’s a Must-Try: Basically, if you really love real Creole cooking, this is where it’s at. Everything that comes from the kitchen there is homemade and the gumbo is that very thing you’ve only dreamed about. Think flavorful, spicy, and completely soul-satisfying. If there is a faint zing that seems as though it’s burning your face, maybe get something cold to drink, or grin and bear it, because your sinuses are probably finally clear, very clear that is.

What to Order: First, you must get the Gumbo – either seafood or chicken and sausage – because that’s the staple, and frankly, what they’re best at. Next, you will not want to leave there until you get some beignets. You know, that classic New Orleans donut-like pastry. A tip, don’t wear black when eating these or people will stare and think you forgot to wipe your face off after working in the garage! Basically, if that doesn’t appeal to you, that Shrimp Creole can be as close to heaven on Earth as you are going to get here.

2. For the Love of Burgers: Blue Bonnet Cafe

Blue Bonnet Cafe Marble Falls

Wanting that American diner feel with burgers that melt in your mouth? Look no further than Blue Bonnet Cafe, because it’s been around for over 90 years and tends to be that perfect spot where everyone seems to meet. This landmark tends to be a true local favorite that delivers simple food, made the really, really old-fashioned way. That very way that makes it all seem that much more comforting, in fact. Now, Blue Bonnet isn’t only known for it’s fantastic hamburgers and fries, oh no. As a matter of fact, Blue Bonnet has got a huge reputation that comes specifically from their pies! Because they tend to have a huge selection every single day, you can get yourself a slice to die for to end that meal of yours.

Why It’s a Must-Try: Because, honestly, Blue Bonnet just reeks of small-town charm, and as I was saying, has been around for donkeys years (well, nearly!). But still, the long history, paired with pretty much classic eats and fantastic hospitality, makes this place, kind of, an absolutely must-visit.

What to Order: Anyway, go big or go home with, I don’t know, something like, the Blue Bonnet Burger, right? A great patty loaded with classic fixings will surely knock you off your feet. And obviously, don’t skip the pie. They tend to have so many flavors available that I’m pretty sure one of them has to float your boat, whatever flavors or combos of things you like, kind of, if you see what I mean. But I think people very often would recommend their chocolate meringue. Yeah, but you do you.

3. Waterfront Dining at its Finest: River City Grille

River City Grille

For pretty fine dining, that seems to provide amazing water views, just go straight to River City Grille. It tends to offer a great menu filled with so very much seafood, as well as steaks, plus a variety of appetizers to get your experience really underway. In addition, the interior of this very choice spot really has this air of subtle sophistication, a very calm place that is often just a nice retreat from some hub bub you find in more, as it were, casual locations. The fact is, I think most people end up getting all dreamy over some live music played on the patio that overlooks the water at sunset.

Why It’s a Must-Try: River City Grille very obviously features both a relaxing spot to take a bit of time to settle in to a memorable meal, as well as an awesome vantage spot from which to watch pretty Marble Falls highlights.

What to Order: As a matter of fact, you may like the Grilled Salmon with dill sauce, right? Which tends to be a favorite. Just about any of their seafood dishes will impress. But I feel as though I might also point your attention towards the Ribeye steak; it has this almost delicious smoky flavor, with that rich, beefy cut of, just, happiness. That, that tends to melt in your mouth. Actually, before that, I might get their fried pickles for starters, especially, very especially if they are offering them with a sriracha mayo sauce! But hey, you may also prefer something completely different; I tend to just like fried pickles as my go-to. It’s really great sitting outside here.

4. Coffee and a Light Bite: Tea Thyme Cafe

Tea Thyme Cafe Marble Falls

Hoping for a charming spot that seems almost quaint and very relaxing to enjoy? No question, because Tea Thyme Cafe seems to be this fantastic little cafe-style location in an, it’s almost, like older home. This also can be a brilliant venue to host a baby or wedding shower with how it’s all set up, to boot. That, kind of thing you know? Now, this particular choice has got a beautiful interior design, very delicate decorations and furniture, along with, if you hadn’t gathered, the cafe has got some very wonderful teas from which to choose. The fact is, you know, if teas aren’t necessarily your favorite, this very spot also offers just a small menu for foods that goes really great with these beverage choices.

Why It’s a Must-Try: To be honest, sometimes we all have these specific needs to just have a little time away from all the noise to find some inner peace; maybe you like to read, maybe you tend to daydream. But frankly, the very atmosphere present at Tea Thyme is really conducive for recharging your soul.

What to Order: Right then, let’s see. Now, you may want to think about, maybe a classic afternoon tea service with scones and finger sandwiches, you know? But actually, just about anyone will tell you their quiche is extremely memorable, or, as it may be, their chicken salad sandwiches. Yet, maybe a really great idea would just to be getting some scones and trying several teas, and who knows, I bet you end up walking out of there as a bigger tea fan that you previously did, right? Because, like I said, Tea Thyme Cafe makes an event special.

5. Drinks with a View: Double Horn Brewing Company

Double Horn Brewing Company

Planning for some local craft beers coupled with that fun atmosphere of yours? Fine. See, Double Horn Brewing Company very often will have got you covered. That place boasts a huge taproom. A taproom seems to be an actual big selection that lets you explore whatever crazy choices are available that week. The interior has this, almost, rustic feel, a design aesthetic which really just draws attention straight to their brewing vats; you tend to watch how all of their liquid delights are made. Oh and by the way, they may just very frequently have live music that just makes you move your feet.

Why It’s a Must-Try: But really, it’s the craft beer scene of which Double Horn will become that vital part in Marble Falls. Now, that can be a great spot to unwind after just, kind of, what happened today or try really local beers with friends. Because, as I have just touched on, their offerings do frequently seem to be changed up, which has become an awesome excuse to keep visiting them again and again, and yet again!

What to Order: As I was saying, that may seem super subjective; still I kind of recommend whatever tends to be seasonal, right? And of course it also kind of depends what you tend to even like when we talk about styles of beer or drinks. In fact, Double Horn tends to have such wide variety that, maybe, think about starting yourself with some sort of sampler; then when that arrives try whatever takes that eye of yours and sounds interesting on paper, which allows you to try several options with only a low level of commitment, very low at that! I might actually mention the beer scene in Marble Falls to those reading!
