Düsseldorf art

If you’re looking for things to do in Germany, well Düsseldorf might just be your place! The place often presents a curious puzzle for travelers. It might not be the first city that springs to mind when thinking of German cultural hubs, you know, yet that’s part of its quiet appeal. The place overflows a ton with surprising treasures, particularly its art and culture scene. So, as someone who’s spent a fair bit of time exploring the city’s corners, I can tell you it really does have something unique. Let’s explore some of the best spots that even the city dwellers are interested in!

K20 and K21: Strolling Modern Art Masterpieces

K20 art collection

So, first up, we have not just one, yet two sensational spots to see modern art! K20 and K21 are so closely connected that, at the end of the day, it is kind of almost like visiting twin experiences, alright? K20 Grabbeplatz displays a stunning collection of 20th-century art, for instance, with masterpieces from artists like Picasso, Klee, and Warhol. Actually, I remember seeing Picasso’s work and literally spending ages analyzing the artwork.

Now, K21 Ständehaus, which used to be the historical parliament, offers this totally fascinating setting, as a matter of fact, the piece which allows visitors to walk across a suspended net high up under the glass dome, the “in orbit” installation by Tomas Saraceno, is probably a well-known part about it too. Basically, I think the net is such a creative and cool experience to understand the art scene which takes hours to tour around. At the end of the day, it’s just so unique and I suggest, that in some ways, everyone gives it a try.

Museum Kunstpalast: Traveling via Time

Museum Kunstpalast exhibits

Anyway, if one is after a much broader scope, basically, from the Middle Ages right up to the current times, very Museum Kunstpalast is definitely it. Well, its diverse collection encompasses paintings, sculptures, graphics, and applied arts, alright? Its quite strong points involve its holdings of the Dusseldorf School of Painting from the 19th century, just a little important to those into art from around here, arguably. As I was saying, they literally had it all and I literally spent my day enjoying a whole variety of cultural themes.

Now the building itself is beautiful with its stunning architecture and vast rooms. The applied arts are the one I like most, yet still there are many things which include pieces of furniture to fashion pieces, to understand German past in some respects. When I last went to the museum, you know, they literally had an exhibit that showed fashion during the ages of when the city started until today and so on.

Ehrenhof: Enjoy Architecture

Ehrenhof architecture

Okay, now, if anyone actually just fancies stepping outside to absorb architecture that also has the cultural heart, basically, Ehrenhof literally delivers this in spades, alright? Originally built for the GeSoLei exhibition way back in 1926, the Ehrenhof is just so, extremely grand, very. The place is like the most fabulous spot to actually explore culture at all, like the NRW-Forum for contemporary art, that might be just for anyone into something more experimental.

As a matter of fact, the architecture and open space will be perfect if one decides to chill with any other traveler. Anyway, for instance the TONHALLE Düsseldorf, also just here is also located at the planetarium where different art exhibitions come so often to put life. Ehrenhof usually shows the mix of the historical designs as it displays a mix of social meetings in the society of modern events to see.

Düsseldorf Old Town (Altstadt): Culture around every corner

Düsseldorf Old Town culture

Now, I suppose one of the best ways to simply absorb any culture, so to speak, would be literally exploring the Düsseldorf Old Town (Altstadt). Of course the area really could be literally jam packed with so much culture as it usually provides many art-vibe streets with multiple hidden things like statues and architectures around corners too, honestly. Local German cultures and architecture often show their colors, very colorful if I might say.

There are the traditional bars, local breweries which can provide a wide display from Düsseldorf traditions too as a matter of fact. During my past visit to Altstadt, well, the trip will obviously always be on my plans while still trying to have so much time to go and relax in the area too!

Hetjens Museum: Learn Ceramics in history

Hetjens Museum ceramic history

As a matter of fact, this is yet another totally unique cultural stop, the Hetjens Museum. It’s usually referred to as the German Ceramics Museum. By the way, the museum is a pretty awesome place, very. What’s extremely interesting is it showcases a huge collection that actually covers literally over eight thousand years of ceramics through different cultures too in short. From the ancient to modern, Hetjens often literally provides like some kind of amazing deep trips. From ancient potteries till advanced designs there are literally too many cultures being delivered around the spot too.

Now, being in this spot does feel nice, yet if you just think about traveling ceramics, in that case, people always try to admire different pieces of pottery that literally are from all around many past civilizations to think about, alright?
