Café Europa: A Taste of Europe in Colombia
Well, first off, we’re going to Cafe Europa. You know, it might seem like it’s just another cafe, yet this is a super nice joint for sinking your teeth into some familiar eats if you are missing some of the familiar stuff. You’ll discover, the place’s owner actually knows his way around a kitchen, like it is his personal playground; from really crispy schnitzels that are just yummy, or maybe you want a rich goulash that hugs you from the inside, it’s all great hearty goodness. Oh, I didn’t even get to the cakes! So, they are pretty, very delicious. Honestly, this spot might be the perfect way to indulge yourself after doing something as easy as riding around in the nearby hills.
Yet, just so you know, sometimes it gets really crowded in here, which is not super strange, it being as great as it actually is and all. Try swinging by early or between those real main times to maybe dodge a line, more or less, that will certainly test your patience. Still, that cake, that schnitzel – just the thought of those almost makes my mouth water – so it definitely should be added to your itinerary. In that case, be ready for something wonderful!
Restaurante La Argelia: Authentic Colombian Flavors
Alright, fancy a full-on, proper dive into the tastes this area offers? Very well, you really have to swing by Restaurante La Argelia. Anyway, this location is actually all about real, traditional Colombian food, too it’s all put together by folks who truly get it. You see, for real local food that will really wow, try ordering the bandeja paisa, which you can imagine like this huge plate stacked really high with all the tastiest stuff possible: rice, beans, chorizo, avocado and more. It’s kind of the total knockout of meals!
Apparently, there’s also really great trout on the menu that’s so fresh, it is seemingly straight from the river to the table! When I showed up, the people running it really put a special touch on everything. Anyway, they will make you feel completely at home, so prepare yourself to leave all full and cheerful! To be honest, it actually doesn’t look all flash, that being said it truly balances the real thing. Just because it is truly wonderful!
Dulces del Jardin: A Sweet Escape
If you’ve got that craving, I hear you, so head over to Dulces del Jardin. Right, picture this: rows filled with just sweets of all kinds— that, too, have these bright shades and flavors and that whole spot has that sweet, amazing dessert smell—that you get that instant rush. Seemingly, it might sound kind of a little too sweet but if you would like that sugary hit it will give the right kick!
By the way, from the really classic candies crafted out of panela to milk-based sweets and stuff crafted right in the area, there’s a little bit for almost everyone you see! Is that one calling you out? If it actually is you need to grab arequipe – I mean, the caramel treat – because this very place creates them superbly, even making you grab more as you begin with the first one. So it might come across a place simply created for the ones that would like something super sweet. It truly gives a wonderful flavor for days after visiting Jardin.
Brown Coffee Gallery: For the Coffee Connoisseur
Anyway, it might sound absurd to travel all the way to Colombia and pass up some super high quality coffee – so that makes me suggest the spot, Brown Coffee Gallery. To be honest this place does much more than that, too, it shows off actually amazing local coffee, you might even say that they almost are artists. Here, too, they serve all the usual coffees from like espressos to cappuccinos, this establishment prides itself in making it exceptional!
The reason this establishment makes the coffee stand out from others is because this is created out of special beans directly sourced straight from the little farms dotting the hills circling Jardin; even more, you’ll almost be helping that local industry by taking a drink. What is more impressive is that this particular place features awesome vibes to take in! I would have to let you know, if coffee drives your engine you just simply must stop here!
Casa Passiflora Hotel y Restaurante
So, right here, there’s another one I found really lovely; Casa Passiflora isn’t simply a hotel; too, its a real taste experience with one heck of a restaurant. Yet, that is another establishment you can find awesome dishes that make me swoon with like trout perfectly prepped alongside other meals produced from traditional, local sourced stuff! However, the views you can get from this space are something to speak of—you almost will feel like you will be inside a fairytale because of how green and magical the view is.
Right, to have your dinner gazing out at Jardin just twinkling down in the hollows underneath while having the most tasty creations, makes for a special event! That truly sets this space apart, the hotel’s charm comes mixed alongside remarkable cooking and sights from across the highlands. Is that one special or what?! You’ve gotta be there yourself; the sunsets can seriously be epic!
