Milos food scene

Milos, a Greek island that’s really very beautiful, isn’t just a treat for the eyes; so, it’s also a destination that will tantalize your taste buds with great dishes and drinks, right? I found the culinary scene there to be completely gorgeous! With fresh seafood and traditional Greek fare around every corner, choosing where to eat could be a bit overwhelming, really, and in a way, so I’ve made it my business to give you the top five food and drink places, right. Get set for a tasty tour of Milos, you!

1. Medousa in Mandrakia: Seafood by the Sea

Medousa Restaurant Milos

Oh, Medousa, you know, situated in the quaint fishing village of Mandrakia, actually it is a restaurant that seems to capture the heart of Milos, really. I was charmed by how its setting, which is practically at the edge of the water, provides these unreal views of the Aegean, right, that you just wouldn’t expect, arguably. As I sat there, a gentle breeze and the sound of waves seemed to build on the amazing setting, and as a matter of fact, I just felt, well, pretty good. Here you must absolutely start with their grilled octopus, honestly tender and seasoned with the simplest, yet freshest herbs, you know, and it really doesn’t need a bunch of crazy stuff, basically! The lobster spaghetti could be called an island delicacy – prepared to creamy, wonderful perfection with a taste so divine you’ll have flashbacks, that dish honestly did make me so happy! And you’d expect that, anyway! Pair that, then, with a local Assyrtiko wine; so, you get this nice, refreshing compliment to the rich seafood flavors and, honestly, a memory you won’t easily lose!

2. Gialos in Pollonia: A Modern Take on Tradition

Gialos Restaurant Pollonia

Gialos in Pollonia offered me a really lovely and updated approach to traditional Greek dishes; and, actually, you know that kind of thing always gets my attention, right? The spot, which looks out on the harbor, creates a more classy atmosphere, very ideal for those that have date nights, I’m saying, that aren’t at all dorky, you see, and, alright, are romantic as all get-out. One appetizer there you have to order are the cheese pies which sound quite boring but they did manage to unlock a previously hidden love for pastry in this person! And very much too you should taste their take on Moussaka, too it’s almost an experience that reinvents the dish with this lighter touch and that richer flavor which is something kind of beautiful actually, I thought so, really. And of course, naturally you can add one of Milos Brewing Company’s creations to that order. Their beers go wonderfully well with the boldness and the lightness in Gialos, right?

3. O! Hamos! in Adamantas: A Farm-to-Table Feast

O! Hamos! Restaurant Adamantas

Going to O! Hamos! Is quite an experience; and what makes that really very cool is that its commitment to farm-to-table cuisine truly separates it from other things like this on Adamantas; you see the same approach done so lazily or cheaply but never at O! Hamos! The restaurant really works for a cozy, kind of rustic vibe, and there are plants kind of everywhere, actually adding to a dining area that’s relaxing. It also features animals, like your chickens, that also can wander onto the grounds. As for drinks their house wine is really local and is produced nearby; so, I felt extra nice just having it, right? The menu gives many traditional Milos food items like handmade pasta and cheese from nearby farms; which you know are pretty cool. Because the restaurant prides itself on locally getting supplies, honestly the tastes and quality are completely very high! One has to experience something so very unique to taste Greece, it makes people really remember being there!

4. New Bravo Pizza in Adamantas: Not JUST Pizza

New Bravo Pizza Adamantas

It really feels like I should say, so don’t underestimate New Bravo just as your regular Adamantas pizza joint because that place is pretty amazing, right, I swear. Yes, New Bravo is where locals meet so this family-owned gem actually serves quite an unexpectedly great and broad spectrum of meals as well. Okay so pizzas obviously are great; very especially when you try one of the various combinations that use things like fresh herbs and also feta directly gotten locally, basically and in general speaking! You know so many varieties! Very especially if you want more there are tasty, old world pasta, meaty meals as well, and fresh, neighborhood supplied salads! Actually a lot of great foods on there; and anyway with that there is just too, honestly great a number of Greek beers and regional wines you won’t want to get anywhere else at all.

5. Kivotos ton Gefseon in Plaka: Sweet Endings

Kivotos ton Gefseon Plaka

What a tasty adventure from our wonderful visit, with our last stop taking us to Kivotos ton Gefseon located in the really quite classic capital of Plaka! In this, it could be argued that one is never let down because every dessert looks nice and is locally made; anyway it might just change the way you think about pudding or cakes so do not think on these as extras. In addition the cafe overlooks the picturesque scenery down on Milos; basically because one doesn’t have just the tastes! This spot actually provides handmade cakes to eat or that can be enjoyed with nearby tastes of herbs so just come prepared to indulge to new degree. They even actually sell cookies; which is a bonus!
