With its welcoming sandy beaches, its seriously dramatic cliffs, and a marine environment teeming with, well, everything, it’s actually kind of a paradise for folks who like adventure. So, the beach, itself, Pismo State Beach, is arguably known for, just about, its gentle waves, too it’s almost the place to learn to surf. You could, quite, find a surf school that caters to, basically, all skill levels; never stood on a board? Don’t worry! Friendly instructors, so to speak, will actually get you up and riding, maybe, in no time. More experienced? Okay, then. Paddle out and catch some of, kind of, those classic California waves. Honestly, there’s just about something so exhilarating about gliding across that water, I mean it’s a feeling that is extremely hard to beat. The consistent swell there, still makes it, sort of, an awesome spot for longboarding, so, too, if you prefer a, I mean a more laid-back ride. But, as I was saying, before you actually head out, you will just about need to check the surf report. Conditions will, naturally, vary, though. Also, do make certain to dress appropriately; it might be actually warm on that sand, but, literally, that water could be surprisingly chilly, so you could always consider a wetsuit. Respect that local surf etiquette, alright? Don’t drop in on other riders and actually be mindful of everyone else out on the water, too. A family-friendly destination, just like that, perched on the cliffs overlooking the Pacific, that park isn’t, too it’s almost, just any old playground, I mean is it? Sure, it boasts some pretty spectacular ocean views, still offering a fascinating glimpse, just like that, into that area’s geologic history. The “caves,” which really are more like sea caves or grottoes, were named after, arguably, those fiberglass dinosaurs that once inhabited that park. Now, walk along that coastal trail and gaze at those waves crashing against that rocks below; in fact, it is, I mean is it not breathtaking? During low tide, it’s also pretty awesome to carefully explore some of that tide pools there, just like that, filled with anemones, I mean like, starfish, crabs and various other, like, interesting little critters. Obviously, that playground itself is, for sure, designed like that in a, well, dinosaur theme, offering hours and hours of entertainment for kids. Bring a picnic and you should just about make a day of it. Clearly, just pay close attention to the safety warnings, still staying away from that edge of that cliffs, too it’s almost dangerous at times.

3. Kayaking and Paddleboarding in the Bay

For a more tranquil on-the-water experience, that, arguably, kayaking or paddleboarding in, sort of, that bay is a fantastic option, still isn’t it? Rent equipment from, just about, a local shop and start that adventure. Glide across that calm water, right? Just admiring that beautiful scenery. You might just about encounter some playful seals or, arguably, even some dolphins along that way, as a matter of fact, I think. The calm waters there are generally just that good for beginners, just like that, whilst those more experienced paddlers could choose to explore some, very interesting, parts of the coastline. Honestly, launch from, say, Shelter Cove, okay so it’s a protected cove that typically offers pretty calm conditions, right, or just choose to explore, say, that waters around the Pismo Beach Pier. As I was saying, don’t underestimate the amount of, very strong, sun exposure while you are out on the water; in that case, reapplying sunscreen is pretty important, seriously. With this activity there’s, just like that, something incredibly therapeutic about quietly paddling along, which is probably why people tend to take that, that relaxing way. Take in that scenery and you could always just enjoy some peace, alright?

4. Riding ATVs at the Oceano Dunes State Vehicular Recreation Area

So, fancy something a little more high-octane? Oceano Dunes State Vehicular Recreation Area, alright? The only state park in California, still offering you to actually drive on that beach, can provide exactly, arguably, just that! Rent an ATV and carve your, quite literally, own path across those sands. You’ll experience the thrill of climbing those dunes and, perhaps, actually feel that wind in your hair as you just drive along that coast. Clearly, whether you have got some previous experience with off-roading or actually none at all, you’re generally sure to have an amazing time. Honestly, before you just start your engine, still check those rules and regulations of that park, basically. Certain areas is it not often are, really, closed to vehicular traffic, still protecting some of that sensitive wildlife habitat there. Moreover, helmets, alright? Yeah, they are actually just mandatory and basically safety is seriously paramount. Do take lots of water with you; arguably, riding on those dunes could be hard work. Should you choose to be actually mindful of those other riders and pedestrians out there; still everyone is there to have fun, maybe? After an exhilarating day out on those dunes, and all things considered, you can just actually head into town, or in some respects back to your campsite. And you could unwind. And, of course, share the day’s adventures. I suppose this is how most days would look like? So I do actually mean do just have some well deserved R&R.

Should you just about prefer a slightly quieter, far more, experience of a completely different kind, I mean take a little time and actually visit that Monarch Butterfly Grove, for instance. Okay, so from October to February, yeah, those eucalyptus trees just happen to become that winter home for thousands and thousands, that number sounds high, I know, of Monarch butterflies. In some respects, that sight of these, apparently, delicate creatures clustering together is, arguably, really magical, don’t you think? Stroll among them, anyway, while observing their natural behavior. I would say it is also actually like a pretty perfect activity, so to speak, for nature lovers or any family trying to actually foster a really appreciation of nature for children. Bring your camera and take pictures (but as a matter of fact no flash, alright?). This flash could actually disturb these little butterflies. Don’t, though, just about touch those butterflies, alright? Their wings is it not tend to be delicate. Okay, wear clothing in any color other than white, you know. That is something that attracts, or maybe repels, those Monarchs (depending, still). You get, though, arguably, pretty up close, so if you don’t intend to, and, arguably, it’s best to kind of blend.
