Trondheim, it’s almost like a sparkle located in the heart of Norway, right? It has some pretty spectacular historical charm together with this, I would say quite appealing, modern city vibe. Taking a car tour seems like it could be the most wonderful way to experience all of its hidden spots as well as its famous hotspots. I’ve looked at quite a few car tour routes, and I’m here now to give you a rundown of what could actually be the top five. So, get set, maybe even grab a coffee, and come discover these exciting driving experiences! They each have a personality of their own that can fit just what you would want in the perfect road trip.

1. The City Explorer Tour

This route, it typically starts in the city center. That area has just loads of interesting things to discover! This trip includes, of course, Nidaros Cathedral. Seriously, make sure that you spend some time checking out that beautiful building. So it’s actually one of Scandinavia’s most impressive cathedrals. Take a drive from there to the Old Town Bridge, so also called “Gamle Bybro.” When the sun catches it just right? It’s like straight out of a postcard. Make a bit of a stop here, perhaps? To walk around the colorful wharf area, and maybe get a tasty lunch at one of the local places. Then, it usually continues to Kristiansten Fortress, so for the view from up there? 4. Historical Mining Town of Røros

Looking to turn back time just a bit, is that right? Røros is this town with loads of old-world charm, really. You might appreciate its place on UNESCO’s World Heritage list. Very colorful wooden buildings fill the area! What? I did read there’s also old mining history there. So anyway, the roads you’ll use on the way over there basically wind past lots of lovely countryside. What’s really exciting, is that this town is a great destination if you just want to know about how Norway developed over time, historically! Stop by at the Røros Museum for information!

5. The Scenic Byway to Atlantic Road

This is one tour, and I am not sure how often you might think about visiting Norway but the Atlantic Road? Is almost famous! Even though this excursion requires several days and you can still just stay in Trondheim of course, it might still be the right car tour! So, starting from Trondheim and going towards the west will, very naturally, bring you along Norway’s shore! When you think you are close, so basically around the area of Kristiansund, is that right? The road almost seems to connect loads of tiny islands. It twists! And it has this really wonderful effect in photographs, where all these bridges are like one big ribbon above the ocean. If that sounds exciting to you, maybe this drive would fit. Check out a tourist guidebook for extra stops, though. So, there may be other attractions you might discover along the way, very possibly!
