Top Costa del Sol Sightseeing: Fun Tours & More

Planning a trip to the Costa del Sol and thinking about things to see? You are going to want to read this! Deciding how to best see the highlights is actually a huge part of trip planning. With so many options to make choices, figuring out the best tours can be a bit, very overwhelming. I have done a bunch of vacation planning. In this post, I will run through five pretty outstanding tours around the Costa del Sol, each offering something just a little unique, to just maybe help you pick the perfect fit.

1. Malaga City Essential Tour

Malaga is just a bit more than only beaches. Getting a local look at the historical spots of Malaga can give you so much better context when it comes to appreciating it, you see? One pretty great place to start is the Malaga City Essential Tour. This one usually gives you a walkthrough of top places worth spending time on. Expect things like the Alcazaba, which is an old Moorish fort with fantastic views and plenty of history that you just should see. The tour will almost always cover the Roman Theatre. Can you believe it is still there after all these centuries?

A typical stroll actually runs straight through the center where you will often have time to have it explained. Most tours usually involve stories about Picasso, who, too, was born there. Pretty cool to think about as you walk near his birthplace. If you like culture and want a general introduction to the city, this one is worthwhile.

2. Nerja and Frigiliana Day Trip

Nerja and Frigiliana is something you often want to see with your own eyes. Visiting Nerja and Frigiliana on the same day is just great if you only want to experience Andalusian spots outside of Malaga. Usually, the tours leave in the morning and head to Nerja first. It has got this awesome Balcón de Europa. People call it the Balcony of Europe. Can you just picture yourself staring out at the Mediterranean Sea? And I am sure, some have actually described this one the right spot for this exact thing.

After Nerja, many head over to Frigiliana, which actually wins awards for its look. Frigiliana is typically one of those whitewashed villages on little hills with cobblestone paths. People say wandering around is special. This setup is one for someone trying to experience culture in Andalusia, which in a way is actually a look outside of the better known towns, and pretty worth it.

3. Ronda Day Trip

Ronda feels sort of dramatic because of where it is at. The El Tajo gorge splits this city so there’s that. But it makes things more exciting too, does not it? Day trips tend to focus on this incredible Puente Nuevo bridge that connects either side of Ronda and it often takes some great skill. Besides the views of that one, Ronda is very known as where bullfighting pretty much started in Spain, if people do indeed get into all that kind of thing. You could very likely swing by Plaza de Toros.

Another nice thing? The Arab Baths are not far at all. Exploring the old bathhouse can be great since a day trip generally only covers that stuff. Day trips can give an even bigger background to culture if seeing all of these places on the side of mountains appeal.

4. Caminito del Rey Adventure

So, feeling fairly brave? Then go and maybe book El Caminito del Rey. It’s known for an old walkway hooked on cliffs. People like El Caminito, they often go there to experience thrilling adventures, actually. After a revamp a couple of years back, El Caminito now has a track where everybody should try this hike without stress, they claim. However heights should scare no one as you go along narrow paths high on the rocks.

I suggest actually reading up before planning because tickets usually move quickly and tours usually plan around assigned time entries. What to know? Wear comfortable shoes since you can get a bit, very tired because El Caminito can make almost anyone a bit, slightly challenged, physically. For travelers trying to find something exciting outside town centers, El Caminito would give that.

5. Gibraltar Excursion

Want to actually tick off visiting somewhere new without having to spend much time at all to actually get into all those big plans? You will find it nice that day excursions even give this special feature! You should visit Gibraltar! These tours often get tourists on shuttle vehicles. I heard the top thing when they stop for the viewing is viewing The Rock. But what usually turns out exciting is seeing the apes, called Barbary macaques, who very much love chilling nearby.

Trips to Gibraltar often involve an exploration down Main Street too, often where the city markets its things. In the tour, the shopping aspect can turn into something memorable due to value because it’s still thought as somewhere with no VAT; So it turns to shopping trips as part of day planning there too or they claim. All things set out, consider it, anyway, for something special around that part of Andalusia, in case getting there can just be done fairly rapidly.
